A. Becoming a part of the "Artists" webpage:
1. What is the "Artists" webpage all about?
The "Artists" webpage displays one of J.Philpott Effects' unique, people-orientated characteristics that continues to note us as an innovative guitar products company that is very well-rooted in the music community. With the "Artists" webpage at the J.Philpott Effects Internet Site, customers of our products can have various media regarding their musical work posted on the Internet. This service proves to be an excellent promotional opportunity for our customers' music careers and also serves as a listing of the growing number of musicians who have purchased and use J.Philpott Effects products.
2. How can my band or I have information about our/my musical work posted on the J.Philpott Effects "Artists" webpage?
The only requirement for obtaining space at the "Artists" webpage is that you directly purchase a J.Philpott Effects product. (Any other method of obtaining a J.Philpott Effect product, such as second-hand/used/purchase-from-"dealer"as-"new"-or-used/etc, does not qualify). Any time after directly purchasing your J.Philpott Effects product, you can Email (or snail mail) the information/media you would like posted.
3. Are there any hidden hosting fees? Does this offer expire at any time?
No. This service is 100% free to customers. As long as space permits with our server, all of the information posted at the "Artists" webpage will remain posted at no charge.
4. What kind of information/media can I have posted?
Just about anything within reason. One band/individual photo (it will be resized to fit the viewing space). Possibly an album listing, a brief band description and/or history (what type of music you play, where you're located and/or gig) if you like. A link to your website or email/etc (if applicable). Up to 500kB worth of sound samples. Usually this means approximately 30 seconds of wav-type format (mp3 also acceptable). Any other details not mentioned here will also be considered. ALL of the above is ONLY permitted if the content is suitable for ALL ages -- nothing questionable language/graphic-wise is allowed (at the discretion of J.Philpott Effects).
5. Can I make changes to my content posted at the "Artists" webpage at a later date?
Yes. Updates to the "Artists" webpage will be ongoing. Changes can be made by emailing the new information to J.Philpott Effects.
B. The J.Philpott Effects "Proto Series:"
1. What is the J.Philpott Effects "Proto Series?"
When a new J.Philpott Effects pedal is designed and in its final stages before standard manufacturing, a "Proto Series" of the new design OCCASIONALLY MAY be issued. Usually this would be a run of about 5 to 10 units. Most, if not all, of the features on the "Proto Series" pedals become standard on the main series of production pedals, however, slight design changes may be made. The benefits for purchasing a "Proto Series" pedal, however, include being able to test a prototype before it is available to the general public and perhaps even better, the "Proto Series" pedals typically are sold at a significantly discounted price. (The XYLO "Proto Series" pedals, for example, sold for $80 compared to the standard series XYLO's $150 price. Also, no changes were made from the "Proto Series" to the main production series XYLO).
2. How can I be informed and have the opportunity to buy a "Proto Series" pedal?
Unfortunately, only previous direct customers of J.Philpott Effects products will be informed and will be eligible to purchase a "Proto Series" pedal. The discounted price facet of the "Proto Series" pedals is another way for J.Philpott Effects to give back to its valued previous customers.
3. If I am a customer, are there any other requirements involving purchasing a "Proto Series" pedal?
Sort of. Along with purchasing a discount-priced "Proto Series" pedal, you also agree to email/mail a review/questionaire (or post a public review on harmony-central.com). Part of the "Proto Series" idea is that J.Philpott Effects can hear opinions from other musicians who have tested the pedal before the design is put into full production. J.Philpott Effects relies on these reviews to determine whether or not to work on making possible design changes. While all customers are initially eligible to purchase a "Proto Series" pedal (on a first reply/payment basis), any customer who decides not to send any type of review of a "Proto Series" pedal that they have previously purchased forefits eligibility to purchase future "Proto Series."
