The following is a link to the original "Beginners Page", written in 1997 and revised in June 1998. While most of the information may still be relevant, things such as catalog part numbers are largely out-of-date. Also, I have found that the "EH LPB-1 Booster" circuit is a better beginners circuit to try before the Electra Distortion included in the "Beginners Page" since the effect of the booster is more noticeable then the very subtle non-boosting Electra Distortion. Furthermore, the "Design" section of Effectronics discusses the theory behind the "EH LPB-1 Booster". Thus, starting a first project with the booster is better suited, if for any other reason then to be able to further learn the theory behind the circuit after building it.
